Brand new feline exclusive veterinary hospital in Boulder, CO, looking for experienced veterinary technician to join our team and take the lead on new staff training, development of hospital protocols, and providing all elements of primary patient care.
We are highly focused on enhancing the health and happiness of cats (and their guardians) via species-appropriate nutrition, client education, and rational, thoughtful medical care. We employ a "wholistic" combination of Western and Eastern methods, using what is appropriate for each individual patient.
As respected veterinary professionals, our veterinary technicians will function fully as part of our health care team, performing every function except those limited to doctors. This position provides the opportunity for the right person to become, eventually, Lead Technician for a full-service 5-doctor hospital.
Job requirements include competency in basic patient care skills such as IV catheter placement, anesthetic monitoring, dental cleaning, dental radiographs, obtaining blood and urine samples, running laboratory tests, maintenance of surgical instruments, and the like. Feline-friendly handling and restraint skills are desirable, but can be taught if necessary.
Applicant must be willing and able to work with our team to meet client needs above and beyond "stated hours" when necessary, and must be willing to perform any job in the hospital as needed, especially during this developmental period in the new practice.
Applicant must be detail-oriented, responsible, careful, thorough, and demonstrate initiative and good judgment.
Applicant must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Colorado.
Additional Salary Information:
Currently, we offer individual health insurance in addition to salary, paid personal days, 6 paid holidays a year, and a basic continuing education allowance. The hospital benefits plan is being developed now; as we grow and can afford it, we intend to add company health insurance, generous continuing education allowance (including periodic mandatory attendance at specific events such as AAFP Technician tracks, dental wet lab training, etc), a profit-sharing plan, 401(k) and more.
It is our sincere belief that the happiest and most functional veterinary healthcare teams are composed of team members who are respected, paid well, and taken care of.
