Humphrey Giacopuzzi & Associates Equine Hospital (HGAEH), located in beautiful Ventura County, is looking for an enthusiastic board-certified or board-eligible surgeon proficient in all aspects of large animal surgery, including both emergency and routine procedures. HGAEH is a full service, well-established equine practice located in Southern California. The hospital recently celebrated 30 years of exemplary primary and referral services to Ventura County and the greater Los Angeles area. With four ambulatory vehicles, and a fully equipped hospital, we see a full spectrum of equine patients from pleasure to sport horses. HGAEH is close to both the heart of Los Angeles and the vineyards of Santa Barbara.
The hospital is currently equipped with:
Housing for 30 in-patients
Full in-house laboratory capabilities
24-hour technical staff (RVTs and experienced veterinary assistants) and excellent administrative support
3 separate indoor examination rooms, equipped with stocks
Full surgical suite with padded recovery stall
1M and 3.5M video endoscopy/gastroscopy
2 portable digital radiology units (Sound Next and Cuattro Uno)
300 MA overhead/standing radiology unit for abdominal studies
Ultrasound (MyLab 30 Gold) with tendon and abdominal probes
On-site PRP and IRAP processing capabilities
Neonatal unit/intensive care unit with oxygen and slinging capabilities
Fully-equipped reproduction center and stallion collection arena
Duties include both outpatient and inpatient care, with occasional ambulatory work. Colic cases, lameness exams, respiratory cases, ophthalmology and neonatal care constitute the bulk of our referral cases. Emergency surgical duties are shared between two surgeons.
