The position will have primary responsibility for the publication of the Journal of Avian Medicine and Surgery (JAMS), a quarterly scientific, peer-reviewed publication with a circulation of approximately 1,400. The JAMS is published by the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV), and is the official journal of the AAV. The Editor will work under the guidance of the AAV Executive Board. The Editor will be paid as an independent contractor. Compensation will be $37,500, depending on experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a DVM/VMD degree and a strong interest and experience in the field of avian medicine and a solid record of scientific publications. The expected term of office is a minimum of 5 years. The position can be based at the successful applicant’s current location.
