We are offering a mentorship program for a newly graduated or experienced veterinarian in the beautiful Berkshires of Western Massachusetts at Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital. The veterinarian will have a mentor team, consisting of a medicine mentor, surgery mentor, communication mentor and workflow mentor. The new veterinarian will meet with his/her mentors weekly to discuss challenging cases, be instructed in each area and make plans for tackling future challenges. As the new veterinarian and the mentor team becomes more confident in the new veterinarian’s skills and abilities, they will be encouraged to work more independently. Our hospital has a high surgery, dental & ultrasound case load and previous new veterinarians have performed 200-300 procedures during their first year at Pittsfield Vet. The mentor program includes a clothes allowance, vacation time after six months, and formal reviews at 90 and 180 days to track our progress with your learning experience.
Our doctor team has a collaborative culture and meets weekly to round on interesting cases and to keep an open line of communication between all of our doctors. You will be supported by a team of experienced veterinary technicians who are continually enhancing the support we provide to the animals we care for. Additionally, we have some great technology: Advanced 3 probe ultrasound with live telemedicine capabilities, Digital dental radiology that gets used on every dental, flexible & rigid laparoscopy, Ligature Device, Class IV Laser, and an onsite boarded surgeon when needed. A competitive employment package is offered including paid bonuses and reimbursements on state and federal licensing fees, AVMA professional dues, liability coverage, and continuing education.
If you would love to live and learn in a supportive, beautiful environment, come to the Berkshires and work with us at the Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital.
Our county borders three neighboring states, New York, Vermont, and Connecticut. Two of these neighboring states can be seen right down the road from our practice at the top of Mount Greylock, the highest natural point in Massachusetts, at 3,492 feet.
