Associate Position Available With Detailed and Sustained Mentorship and Training

Silver Maple Veterinary Clinic is a family-run small animal hospital  with a special interest in creating meaningful connections with our patients, clients, and community. In a period of big business, we strive to practice advanced medicine and surgery in a personal way, treating each patient like our own pet. Our entire clinic was newly expanded and renovated in 2019, with separate dog and cat waiting and treatment areas, new ultrasound and expanded surgical suite.

We are seeking a sixth veterinarian to excel at our clinic, which has achieved outstanding growth since its establishment in 1988. We offer professional collaboration( monthly veterinarian and staff meetings) with an overarching goal to teach and guide. Candidates will be mentored extensively based on experience. Innovation is our mantra; we incorporate breed specific health care, nutrition consultations, acupuncture and genetic testing, among other services, into our wellness programs. Our clinic is well-equipped with ultrasound, endoscope, digital radiograph, laser therapy, orthopedic, dental, and standard equipment. Our complete in house lab makes diagnostic evaluations easier. We continue to expand all our capabilities with advanced continuing education, and we encourage our associates to do the same. We offer training and guidance by some of the best technicians in the industry, with a precise and organized training program to produce confident and exemplary staff members. Candidates must be willing to perform and get confident with routine surgeries and dentistry. Dental interest would be a bonus, but not required.

Our associate vets usually work four days a week in order to allow for a normal life outside of work. Weekend duties are divided throughout the month. Veterinarians joining our staff can look forward to generous continuing education opportunities, comprehensive insurance coverage, moving fees coverage, and a signing bonus. 

Our practice is located in the beautiful, historic college town of Kutztown, Pennsylvania, not far from Allentown and Reading. Residents and visitors alike enjoy cultural activities, outdoor events, and idyllic rural property, which is perfect for keeping horses and pets or raising a family. We are also situated between two large cities, providing the benefits of both rural and city living. New York City is only an hour and a half away and Philadelphia is also within commuting distance. In Kutztown, you’ll have access to great restaurants and shopping, while your cost of living is minimal compared to other counties in Southeast PA.
