Emergency Surgery Veterinarian

Pieper Veterinary, a 24-hour emergency and specialty practice in Middletown, CT, is seeking an experienced candidate to join our emergency team as an Emergency Surgeon.

Whether you are currently an emergency or primary care doctor, this is a great position for a candidate who enjoys emergency medicine and surgery.

We will consider full time, part time, or per diem time commitments for this position.  There is opportunity to work primarily as an on-call surgeon or be scheduled as the on-site emergency surgeon with some time spent seeing emergency cases.  As a result of this flexibility, this position could be in addition to your current work schedule.

This position will have full support from our current surgery department, which consists of three boarded surgeons, two specialty interns, several on-call surgeons, as well as a dedicated team of technicians and support staff.

In addition to surgery, our specialty teams include emergency & critical care, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, neurology, and oncology. Our specialty departments work collaboratively as a team, conferring on cases and ensuring we explore every option in the treatment of our patients.

Our state-of-the-art facilities include a new POC ultrasound, telemetric monitoring, 64-slice CT, fluoroscopy, MRI, endoscopy, minimally invasive surgical equipment, in-house Antech diagnostic laboratory, and a fully equipped physical therapy department.

We have four surgical suites equipped for general, orthopedic, neurologic, and soft tissue surgery. We are committed to providing our clinicians with the tools that they need to perform advanced diagnostics and treatments, ensuring their clients get the best care available.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated with excellent multi-tasking skills and can contribute to our high standard of patient care, client service, and collaboration with specialists and local referring veterinarians. You will have the opportunity to grow professionally with the hospital and build and sustain strong relationships with referring colleagues, clients, and support staff.
