Practice Manager Needed for Veterinary Neurology Practice in South Florida
Southeast Veterinary Neurology
Practice Manager Required for Veterinary Neurology Hospital, Miami Are you an experienced leader with a track record of inspiring those around you to achieve great things? Are you someone who lives their values and contributes positively to team culture? Do you know your way around a set of accounts? Are you the sort of person who works collaboratively with others so work gets done on time? Does it matter to you to do meaningful work, be accountable and deliver excellence in all that you do? If so, please read on. We may have the job for you. About Us Southeast Veterinary Neurology exists to keep families together by giving second chances to pets and hope to the people who love them. We deal exclusively with neurologic diseases (diseases of the brain and spinal cord) and are one of the United States’ largest independently owned neurology groups. We’ve recently started on a mission to help 20,000 pets suffering from neurological disease to walk again by 2025. That’s not an easy thing to do and we won’t achieve it unless we have fantastic people on the team to help us grow and maintain our reputation for quality care. But we are certain we are going to accomplish our mission by providing high quality, thorough and thoughtful care for our patients, compassionate service for our pet-owning clients, and consistently providing expertise to the veterinary community of South Florida and beyond. Over the past decade, we’ve become a trusted name in specialty medicine and the work and dedication of the team were recognized when we were listed on the University of Florida’s “Gator 100” list and received a "Good to Great" award by the South Florida Chamber of Commerce. We won these awards because we understand that at the very heart of our plans are people. Highly skilled, compassionate, and brilliant people like you. For all the fancy equipment and facilities and awards, it is the culture created and work done by all of the talented individuals at Probably the most important thing to know about SEVN is that it’s a practice built on values; so we’d like to share them with you. The SEVN team values are:
These values show up in our work in lots of different ways, from how we choose to conduct ourselves and treat each other, to who we hire and even what equipment we buy. If these values matter to you too then we think you’d find a good home working with us. About You You’ll be an experienced and organized manager/leader who values hard work, order and building processes that work effectively and run-on time. You’re a thorough planner who lives by the old tailor’s rule of “measure twice, cut once”. That said, you’ll be someone who knows when it’s time to move from planning to execution and has a track record of getting your work done on time and to a high standard. Leadership is something you are good at too. You’ll be a leader who likes to get things done, but not at any cost. Your style is collaborative and inspiring, but you are no pushover. You have the skills to engage others while holding them accountable. On your journey into leadership, authors like Patrick Lencioni, Jim Collins and Fred Kaufman have probably influenced your personal development. To that end, you’ll be an avid learner, hungry to improve. You view failure and growth as one and the same thing and have learned to minimize risk of failure, while maximizing learning opportunities in your work. This probably means you’ve gotten some scars along the way, but these scars are worn with pride and have helped you develop, rather than hidden under a cloak of shame. You’re also a self-starter in the right conditions. You’re not someone to wait around for someone to give you an assignment, but you also like to be sure that the work you are doing is the right work for the right reason. So, you don’t end up blasting off in the wrong direction with projects and waste valuable time and resources. Over and above the exciting projects you get involved in, you have the ability to create systems or effectively delegate tasks to make use of the team around you and also ensure that the regular tasks get done on time and within budget. You’re also a Tetris playing guru when it comes to creating the staff schedule and your ability to balance the books is legendary. Applicants will ideally have a bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years’ experience as a manager. It would be great (but not essential) if this was in a veterinary, dental or medical business. You will be proficient using online apps and tools like CRM systems, accounting software and office suite. About the Role The work you’ll be helping us to do at Southeast Veterinary Neurology matters because we do amazing things like help paralyzed animals walk again so they can enjoy life with their owners. In our case, sometimes what we do really is brain surgery! (Don’t worry, we don’t do rocket science – SpaceX is a few hours north, so we leave that to them). You will be working with the leadership group to create annual and quarterly strategic plans, so we meet our goals. You’ll also be helping the ongoing work of establishing, updating and documenting our procedures for the operation of the hospital. Of particular importance will be ensuring we continue to operate within all legal guidelines such as OSHA and DEA. Working with the Director of Operations you will assist in creating, updating and implementing our strategic growth plan and budget, including goals and tactics. You will monitor KPI’s and report on deviations with a plan to correct. You will make recommendations on projects to be initiated to improve revenue or reduce costs. You’ll also help to recruit and onboard new employees and work with department leads to make sure all staff understand our culture, are clear in what their work involves and are well led. Record keeping is really important in our world, so you’ll be making sure the daily checklists and reconciliation of the practice management system are completed error free. Working with our marketing manager you will assist in creating and following a marketing plan focused on referral sources and future clients. You’ll build on existing strategies and participate in marketing activities such as hospital visits, community events, and Neurologist lectures. We do have a very active marketing team, who are also brilliant at what they do and fun to work with! General management duties include maintaining a comprehensive Operating Procedures Manual and audit to assure it is being followed. You will ensure effective and efficient workflow through proper employee scheduling, training and performance monitoring. You will hold weekly meetings with your department leads and participate in the planning and execution of a monthly all-staff meeting. But don't worry; you won’t be trapped in an office all day. We encourage you to roam the hospital, work along-side everyone, and be available to meet our clients, pet some patients, and solicit feedback on how we are doing. You’ll generally work Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Because we are a 24-hour, 7- day facility, needs will dictate that the Practice Manager may from time to time be available to come in at irregular hours to deal with employee, client, or facility business. Occasionally, the Practice Manager would want to monitor how employees perform on the weekend and to take part in evening lectures and weekend marketing events. Candidate Duties You will be undertaking the following (though this list is not exhaustive): Working with the leadership group to create the plan and ensuring it is executed locally. Recruiting and hiring. Administrative management of the hospital. Creating schedules. Maintaining the quality of the service we deliver and making sure clients and staff are happy. Reviewing and creating the processes that comprise our operations manual. Benefits & Salary $60,000- $80,000 depending on experience. Health insurance with company contribution. Dental insurance. Vision insurance. 401(k) program with a generous company match. Annual education stipend to spend on professional development One to one leadership coaching. What’s the Next Step? To apply for this role, please complete the apply now process and send us both your resume and cover letter explaining why you would be a good fit for this role. Unfortunately, if we do not receive both your resume and cover letter we will be unable to move forward with the hiring process. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
