Orchard Mesa Veterinary Hospital, located in Grand Junction, Colorado, is looking for a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our amazing team and newly remodeled practice! About Our Clinic: At Orchard Mesa Veterinary Hospital, we perform a large variety of routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, and dentistry. We are a full-service small animal hospital that treats dogs, cats, and “pocket pets” – ferrets, gerbils, guinea pigs, mice, and hamsters as well as exotics.

Equipment:

Our diagnostic equipment includes IDEXX in-house laboratory (Procyte, Chem analyzer, Urine analyzer, T4, bile acids, cortisol, PT/PTT), digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound machine, endoscopy, and tonometry.  All doctors can perform basic abdominal ultrasound and one of our doctors is able to perform echocardiograms.  All of our exam rooms contain computers, making it easy to review radiographs with clients.  We are paper-light and use Impromed for our electronic medical records.  Most importantly, we have an amazing support staff and a 1.5-2: 1 technician to doctor ratio, with additional support assistants and hospital attendants. 

Our hospital performs a large variety of routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, endoscopy, and dentistry.  Additionally, we have a team of doctors who have special interests in various areas of medicine such as acupuncture. Our future goals will also include laparoscopy.  Our surgery suite includes one heated table, CO2 cutting laser, suction, and monitoring equipment.  Our doctors are all able to perform most soft tissue surgeries other than thoracic procedures.  Two of our doctors are also able to perform a variety of orthopedic procedures (Plating, pinning, MPLs, TTAs, and FHOs to name a few).  We also utilize the services of a traveling surgeon for TPLOs and other more advanced procedures.  Our dental equipment includes two wet tables, a drill and scaler handpiece, and dental radiography.  We also have cold laser therapy available.   

Schedule: 

Our doctors work 4, nonconsecutive days per week with 3 days off. Each doctor works one weekend a month only and there are no evening or on-call responsibilities since we have various referral/emergency locations nearby. Scheduling is flexible based on your needs.
