The Animal Hospital on the Golden Strip in Williamsport, Pennsylvania is hiring a diligent and driven Managing Veterinarian / Medical Director. You will be responsible for providing medical leadership for a team of collaborative veterinarians and crafting an environment that fosters teamwork and quality medicine. You will also partner with the Hospital Manager to ensure the success and growth of the hospital and work with Divisional Leadership to accomplish hospital goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties will include: coordinating cases to ensure positive outcomes, accurate estimates, and excellent client communication, establishing protocols, and leading staff members in education and performance.
The Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will maintain medical protocols, assure current licensure of all Veterinarians, document required CE hours per calendar year and oversee transfer of medical cases.
Financial Responsibilities – In partnership with the Hospital Manager, the Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director is responsible for the financial performance of the hospital. Responsibilities include:
Preparing operating and capital budgets and meeting budget expectations
In tandem with the Hospital Manager, directing staff and the overall management of the practice, under the direction of NVA Divisional Leadership.
Managing of the hospital’s revenue, expenses and preparing an annual planning matrix.
Ownership for the revenue and success of the practice by monitoring key financial reports.
Team Leadership and Management – As a leader the Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will participate in the recruiting and interview process for Veterinarians and general team members when appropriate. The Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will monitor other Veterinarians performance, prepare their work schedules and develop compliance protocols. The Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will handle training of all medical staff including mentorship of new graduates.
Additional leadership responsibilities of this role include:
Growing the Practice – as the Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director at The Animal Hospital on the Golden Strip you will be joining a team of three Doctors and 30 support staff, comprised of technicians, receptionists, vet assistants groomers and kennel attendants. Growing the practice is a crucial component of this role. The Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will partner with the Hospital Manger to drive patient visits and community involvement by championing change and driving innovation. The Managing Veterinarian/Medical Director will monitor client service, marketing and NVA growth initiatives.
This large facility hosts five exam rooms, an enclosed surgery suite, treatment and procedure room, large doctor’s office, grooming at the front of the building and boarding for 50 pets. The practice also has a full in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound and therapeutic laser services.

Williamsport is mostly famously known as the original home of Little League Baseball. It is home to the Little League World Museum and hosts the Little League Baseball® World Series.

Skills and Qualifications:
Candidate must be a graduate from an AVMA accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification. License in good standing to practice in Pennsylvania.
